Our application process

Our application process at Public Digital is designed to be clear, fair and human.

We are committed to making our recruitment process inclusive and accessible, ensuring consistency and reducing bias at every stage whilst aiming to create an experience that allows candidates to show their strengths.

As part of that, we:

  • Offer adjustments at every stage
  • Provide clarity and information in advance
  • Endeavour to create an environment where candidates feel comfortable and supported to perform at their best.

Our goal is to ensure that every candidate has a positive, respectful and transparent experience, regardless of the outcome.

  1. 1

At the application and screening stage, all CVs and cover letters are anonymised. This means personal identifiers are removed so that initial decisions are based on skills, experience and potential, rather than background or identity.

  2. 2

As candidates progress through the process, we provide clear information on what to expect, including the number of stages, timings and who they will be meeting.

  3. 3

Our interviews are structured to assess relevant skills and experience, while also giving candidates the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about how we work.

What our people say about recruitment at PD:

  • "I was delighted with how the recruitment experience went. PD's commitment to using tools and approaches that anonymise applications felt reassuring to me in terms of its approach to reducing bias and achieving fairness, equity and equality."

    Amanda Smith, Director

  • "My experience as a candidate was centred throughout the process. I was given detailed descriptions of what to expect at each stage, detailed lists of potential questions to help with preparation, and was asked if I had any additional needs or requirements."

    Cleo Little, Senior Director

  • "Interviewing for my role at PD was a positive experience. The panelists gave me great, open answers, and the interaction felt very much like a conversation, rather than a one-way street where I was being grilled and analysed."
