We work with federal, state and city governments to embed best digital practice into the delivery of public services.
Our connection with digital reform in the US started in 2013, when Public Digital's founders - then working inside government leading the UK's Government Digital Service (GDS) - were invited by the Obama administration to help shape the new United States Digital Service (USDS).
This early collaboration helped shape USDS's approach, forming a strong and enduring cross-Atlantic exchange between US and UK digital leaders.
Today Public Digital builds on that legacy in our work with federal, state and city partners across the US.
In recent years, we've worked with the Internal Revenue Service, the state of California, New York City, and cities across the US as part of Bloomberg Philanthropies' City Data Alliance programme.
Our USA practice includes expert digital leaders who have led transformational change around the world. Together, they bring several decades of experience working in the USA at city, state and federal level.
We have worked in complex, large-scale environments and in multi-billion dollar budget organisations delivering services to millions of people. We understand the political, policy and operational pressures unique to organisations of this scale, and the complex technology choices they face.
We build simple, clear and brilliant government websites to meet citizens’ needs, drawing on our experience of creating GOV.UK.
We work with city leaders and their teams to define city digital and data strategies, and build administrations’ internal capability to implement them.
We design and build beacon public services that show the benefits of user-centred, data-led ways of working.
We deliver training to senior public administration leaders and practitioners to unlock the potential of digital within government.
