Maria leads our client engagements, working with digital teams in local government across the UK and Europe.

With a background in tech policy and digital delivery at both local and central government, she has extensive experience of building digital capabilities and steering user-centred design in the public sector. She has led strategic programmes across a number of policy areas, including digital inclusion, economic development, open innovation, and tech strategy.

Maria co-leads our engagement with Bloomberg Philanthropies to support the City of Kyiv in Ukraine, where the team is creating a digital service design strategy that will support the City on a transition from crisis response to a strategic vision for digital services. Maria is facilitating the development of a toolkit to support implementation, as well as the introducing of new ways of working. Her work is helping the City deliver human centred services for the residents of Kyiv.

Prior to joining Public Digital, Maria worked on policy development to support tech startups and scale-ups at the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. She also led on the design of several new services at the Greater London Authority, working closely with city leaders to implement digital ways of working across teams and a design-led approach to solving city problems.
