Ross leads major client engagements at Public Digital, particularly in the public sector.

He coaches leaders to deliver effective digital transformations and support high-performing teams. He has extensive experience working with public sector bodies across a range of different countries, having held senior digital roles in the Canadian, Scottish and UK civil service. At the centre of his practice is leadership coaching in culture change, grounded in deep experience of delivering digital products and services.

At Public Digital, Ross has worked with clients including the UK Parliament, NHS England, the Department of Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs, the British Academy and the International Monetary Fund.

For the UK Parliament, Ross provides coaching for leaders implementing new transformative operating models. He supports management teams in governance and assurance of digital delivery and works to embed user-centred, service-orientated ways of working across three directorates.

Ross’ work with the Government of Nova Scotia involved reviewing the analytics, user research and technical performance data for novascotia.ca and its supporting infrastructure to produce a set of recommendations for optimisation. Ross subsequently started coaching the coordinating leadership and the delivery teams to collaborate in transforming the site to become easier to use, better performing and more secure in delivering information and services.

Prior to joining Public Digital, Ross worked for the Government Digital Service, where he developed systems to deliver on institutional goals and provide a seamless user experience as part of the launch of gov.uk. He went on to be the first Head of Product with the Government of Canada, and their first Director of Platforms, responsible for launching their Notify service.

Ross is also the lead for Public Digital’s own carbon accounting and advises on resource-efficient technology and delivery practices within our client engagements.
