Announcement: PD appointed to University of Liverpool’s Computer Science Industry Advisory Board as industry partner

PD has been appointed to the Industrial Advisory Board (IAB) for the School of Computer Science and Informatics at the University of Liverpool.

We’re joining a select group of global technology leaders including Nvidia, Siemens and Cisco, providing strategic advice to help the School ensure its academic programmes, research and engagement activities remain aligned with the needs of industry, employers and society.

Represented on the Board by Mike Bracken CBE, PD will contribute to the Board’s objectives by sharing expertise on evolving industry landscapes, new technologies, and the shifting requirements of the modern workforce, and helping to strengthen ties between the University and the private sector, and create new avenues for collaborative research and innovation.

We’re proud to have the opportunity to further support the Liverpool region through this appointment, alongside PD’s ongoing work building the capacity of Liverpool’s Mayoral Strategic Authority (MSA) as part of our collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Launched this year, the project involves bringing our expertise in data, AI and service transformation to help mayoral teams to turn newly devolved powers into tangible outcomes for residents.

Mike Bracken said: “It’s an honour to help the University develop its offer in this era of AI. We hope to help Liverpool become a leader in the AI economy and this strengthens our work with the City Region.”

Professor Katie Atkinson, chair of the board at the University of Liverpool said: “We are delighted to have Mike as a member of our Industrial Advisory Board. Our mission is to deliver education programmes that produce highly skilled graduates and to undertake research that is transformative for society.  Achieving this mission to its full extent requires close engagement and collaboration with industrial partners and PD’s support in this endeavour will be invaluable for us.”
