Public Digital is proud to be a partner, alongside LSE and Inner Circle Consulting on an initiative by Bloomberg Philanthropies, to build the capacity of the UK’s new Mayoral Strategic Authorities (MSAs).

The three-year initiative, which was announced by Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg and Bloomberg Philanthropies today (9 December) is designed to support the UK Government’s devolution agenda of transferring powers from central to local government including those related to infrastructure, economic development, and essential public services.

Work will start in early 2026, to provide training and capacity building to help metro mayors and their MSAs accelerate progress and turn newly devolved and broader powers into tangible results for residents.

Michael Bloomberg said:

"At Bloomberg Philanthropies, we’re big believers in the power of mayors to improve services and make a positive difference in their residents’ everyday lives. We’ve supported mayors across the UK and beyond for more than a decade. Now we’re using that experience and resources to help the new metro mayors hit the ground running – and set their communities up for long-term success."

Emma Gawen, Managing Director, Public Digital, said:

“Public Digital is proud to partner on this initiative, alongside LSE and Inner Circle Consulting. We’ll bring our expertise in data, AI and service transformation to help mayoral teams to turn newly devolved powers into tangible outcomes for residents.”
