News: Inaugural Public Digital Shield Final

As proud sponsors of the Hackney U-11 Girls football team, we were happy to support them in the first-ever Public Digital Shield Final on Saturday 18 January. There was an electric atmosphere at the Peter May Sports Ground in Walthamstow as Hackney kicked off against Medway U-11 Girls. The match did not disappoint, delivering an afternoon of skill, determination and community spirit.

The Match

Both teams brought their A-game, thrilling the crowd with end-to-end action. Two spectacular goals from each side took the game into extra time, with both teams pushing for the winning goal to the very last seconds. The final score, 1 -1 was a fitting end to the final, with both sides sharing the honours.

The event concluded with a presentation with the Public Digital Shield - both teams will meet again for a re-match to decide the winner. While the competition was fierce, the spirit of the game was undeniably positive. It wasn’t just about winning; it was about fostering sportsmanship, building confidence and celebrating the power of community.

A community effort

It was heartening to see many familiar faces from the community come together to celebrate the achievements of these young athletes. Thanks are due not only to the vocal crowds who came out in support but also those behind the scenes - coaches and wider community - who helped make this all happen.

Empowering future generations

At PD, we believe in supporting initiatives that empower the next generation. Football, like digital transformation, is about teamwork, strategy and determination, qualities we hold dear. Through sponsorship, we hope to inspire young people to pursue their passions and develop the confidence to tackle challenges on and off the pitch.
