Jo Garwood-Backshall

Jo is an agile delivery specialist and helps large, complex organisations take a user-centred approach to delivering a variety of products and services which provide value and impact for their users.

Her expertise includes building communities and capabilities, coaching, enabling and empowering multidisciplinary teams, fostering psychological safety and inclusive workshop design and facilitation.

Jo is part of the Health, Local Government and Charities team, helping organisations to build their digital capability and redesign how they work and deliver services to user.

Prior to joining Public Digital, Jo led the delivery team and community of practice at Citizens Advice and before that, was Head of Digital Projects at Stonewall, creating the organisation’s digital strategy and first digital roadmap as well as leading the launch of a memberships platform for Diversity Champions.

Jo is passionate about social justice and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and has previously won the Opening Doors London Special Contribution award for her volunteering work as part of their befriending scheme.
