Clara is a Principal Consultant at Public Digital, specialising in leading complex digital transformation projects with an emphasis on equity, justice and user-centred design capability building.

Clara is a service designer, facilitator and community builder, integrating values of equity and justice into the practicalities of government digital transformation. Bringing 20 years of experience from across the public and private sectors, Clara acts as an advisor and coach to organisations, challenging them to deliver real, measurable outcomes that focus on what truly matters to users.

At PD, Clara supports our engagements in the UK public sector, and works to build our capability in advocating for user-centred design (UCD) in government.

Prior to joining Public Digital, Clara was a Lead Designer at the Government Digital Service, where she led much of the work on equity and inclusion within the department’s design team. Her focus was on developing design and research maturity, from building capability in teams to supporting organisations to create the right policy and strategy environments for transformational service design to succeed. Clara's experience also includes NHS Digital, where she worked to overcome the barriers to user-centred design in the organisation. She has a special interest in co-design and building compassionate systems that focus on outcomes for everyone.

Clara also brings experience in private sector and agency settings, having worked across industries including media, finance, banking, ecommerce and the third sector.
