Emma Gawen is a digital product specialist with experience in financial services and the public sector. She has worked as a senior civil servant across IT and digital in the UK and New Zealand governments, advising ministers and senior officials on digital delivery. She advises on best practice in digital governments around the world, how to bring Internet-era product management and ways of working into traditional organisations, and setting technology and procurement strategy to give delivery teams the right conditions for success. During her time in government, Emma founded the Digital 5 (now D9) government network. She was also a founding member of the UK’s G-Cloud team, delivering a new platform for governments to procure technology services as commodities, and establishing the UK’s cloud first policy.
