CEO and Founder
It’s been 3 months since we all started working on Public Digital full time, promising new things and new growth for the business. This morning, we’ve just had a team catch-up about the recent past and the immediate future. It feels like a good time to post an update.
We are working for governments and large organisations around the world to help them adapt to the internet era.
In the last 3 months we’ve visited government teams and private sector clients in Hong Kong, Canberra, Beirut, Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Halifax (Nova Scotia), and Lima. Plus lots of IDEO offices, because we’re doing some really interesting work with them: New York, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Shanghai, Munich, Cambridge (Massachusetts) and Frankfurt. That’s 14 different places overall.
Alongside our friends from Digital HKS, we co-hosted the first Digital Service Convening at Harvard. It was a great opportunity to meet new people, and catch up with those we already knew.
We’ve hosted teams in London as well. In April together with IDEO we hosted the team from La Victoria Lab in Lima who kicked off their second accelerator in London.
There’s loads more happening but we can’t tell you much about most of it yet. When we can, though, we will.
We sponsor the training jerseys for a local community football club – Sporting Hackney FC. We’re getting lots of photos of the jerseys on their travels, and Ben is always looking for early morning running companions. You can buy one here. (The money goes straight to the club, not to us.)
Our book is doing well – over 1,500 copies sold so far. Our publishers are happy, and so are we. There’s even a Kindle edition. Thanks to Steve Railton at Land Registry for buying 50 copies to share around there.
Oh, and we moved to a new office:
