About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in business development or sales to join Public Digital in a Business Development Executive role.
You will be working with a fast-growing global digital transformation consultancy, supporting our client-facing teams to grow their existing accounts and win new business.
Public Digital works with institutions with matter across the public, private and charitable sectors to transform their ways of working. Our clients include national governments, UN agencies, universities, the NHS, and FTSE100 businesses. We often work on the cutting edge of public policy and service delivery, working with global leaders.
The day-to-day job will involve working within our Business Development team to support our client-facing consultancy teams, identify new business opportunities, support and develop client relationships, and help create industry-specific content and client-facing collateral.
Our sales approach is “actively building relationships with integrity”. You must be confident in speaking to senior stakeholders inside Public Digital and with clients, and building trusted relationships with them over time.
Our sales process involves formal tenders, and a substantial part of the role will involve writing tenders and preparing pitches to win new work.
This is an exciting position that offers the opportunity to learn and grow in a fast-paced management consultancy environment, the chance to learn on the job, whilst also studying for a degree.
We are looking for someone who is either in their early career or looking to change career, and who is confident, a self-starter, and with a hunger to learn and develop. You must be both intellectually curious to learn about digital transformation and the work that Public Digital does, while keen to embark on a commercial career in sales and business development. There is an opportunity for the right candidate for Public Digital to fully fund you through a part time undergraduate degree in B2B Sales for three years, starting later in 2024.

Key Responsibilities:
- Learning about and understanding Public Digital’s approach to digital transformation, so you can represent it and promote it to potential clients.
- Identifying and nurturing new business opportunities, including new markets, new clients, new partnerships or new products and services
- Writing and supporting tenders to win new business for our services.
- Working with our client-facing consultants to help build meaningful and longer-term relationships with clients, understanding their needs and developing new proposals to meet these.
- Supporting with commercial modelling and pricing.
- Maintaining and updating pipeline deals on our CRM.
- Developing a suite of materials which supports client engagement.
- Attending events to build relationships with partners and potential clients, and staying up to date with new trends
- Collaborate with various departments, including marketing, finance, central support, and operations, to execute business development strategies and tasks effectively.

- Confidence in meeting and communicating effectively with people from a variety of professional backgrounds, including senior Public Digital partners and directors and senior customer representatives

- A hunger to learn and a “can-do” attitude
- Ability to work independently with autonomy
- Strong Google Docs, Sheets and Slides (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills are desirable.
