Thea Dominey
Principal Consultant
Thea is a user research specialist with extensive experience in planning, facilitating, and conducting research to deeply understand users and their needs. She applies a wide range of methodologies to inform the design and delivery of user-centred services and policies.
Thea has worked across various government services, including prison and probation services at the Ministry of Justice and Migration and Borders at the Home Office. Her expertise lies in delivering high-quality, ethical user research at pace, enabling teams to design services that better meet user needs.
Before transitioning to user research, Thea completed a PhD in Parkinson’s research. Her doctoral work informed the design of a patient-centred treatment pathway that leveraged digital health technologies for remote monitoring and treatment of Parkinson’s patients, ensuring care could be delivered from the comfort of their homes.
Currently, Thea leads user research for Public Digital’s partnership with Change Grow Live (CGL). Embedded within CGL’s transformation team, she supports the organisation in conducting user research while building its long-term research capabilities. Since joining, Thea has enabled CGL to leverage new user research techniques to engage with individuals with lived experience of alcohol services, contributing to the user-centred design of entry pathways for those seeking help with alcohol-related challenges.
