Nic is a service design specialist with cross-sector experience, helping senior leaders, managers and operational teams adopt a service-oriented approach to change and transformation.

A natural collaborator, Nic is skilled in workshop design and facilitation, mapping and visualising service experiences, and creating clear narratives for change. He has written about the use of common service patterns in government and has been an active contributor to UK government design and digital community events.

Previously, Nic led on service design and user-centred design (UCD) strategy at Essex County Council, one of the UK’s largest local authorities. There, he helped establish an in-house team of over 20 design and digital specialists.

At Public Digital, Nic leads service design for our transformation partnership with Change Grow Live (CGL). Embedded within CGL’s transformation team, he is helping the organisation build the capability to map service experiences and prototype ways to use user research insights—ultimately improving support for people seeking help with alcohol use.
