Nicky joined P.D. in November 2024, after a long career in corporate communications, encompassing public, private and charity sectors.
After training and working as a journalist, Nicky joined the Government Communications Network in the UK Civil Service as a press officer in the Department for International Development before moving to roles in the Department of Trade and Industry, HM Treasury and the Department for Education and Skills. In these roles she managed media desks, and advised senior cabinet ministers on press handling. During this time, Nicky was seconded to the Commission for Africa, working alongside world leaders and Sir Bob Geldof, culminating in the publication of Our Common Interest - a comprehensive report aimed at supporting the continent in driving its own development.
After nearly a decade the civil service Nicky joined Thames Water as Media Relations Manager, launching the award-winning London on Tap campaign, promoting tap water in London’s hospitality sector; as well as the Thames Tideway project - the capital’s largest engineering project which recently completed with the opening of the tideway sewerage tunnels under the river Thames. Subsequent private sector roles included managing corporate communications functions at Veolia; Interserve and G4S, where she worked closely with clients including the Ministry of Justice and DWP.
Prior to joining PD, Nicky was Director of Communications and Marketing for several years at Wates Group, the family owned construction and property services company, and has also promoted the work of the London environmental charity, Pollinating London Together.
Nicky is a member of the City Livery Company, the Company of Communicators and is a Freeman of the City of London.
